Is it really Thursday already? I thought life was supposed to slow down for the lazy days of summer? Am I the only one who feels that life has sped up this week?
My girls are settling into their summer routine, which is much slower for them since school is out. But some activities that they were doing after school, have now been moved to evenings over the summer. Which means we are away from home in the evenings more than we are used too.
I haven’t gotten much un-interrupted knitting time, but I am fitting my stitches in when I can. This week I have switched out project bags, and I am now working on my Medallion Wrap every second I can.
I have had this one in hibernation for several years. I haven’t completely ignored this project. It was stored in a clear plastic container in my closet, and I would look at it often. But then I would sigh because I didn’t feel I have the time time to devote to it. So my poor project would simply look on while I pick up yarn for a simpler project.
But I’ve decided I really want to work on this, and pulled it out of hibernation this past week. This project now has it’s own project bag with all it’s own notions/supplies to make it easy to grab and go. It will now go everywhere I go and the medallions will slowly grow little by little as I can spare a few minutes at a time.
I started medallion #3 this past weekend, and just transferred it from the double points to circulars.
The pattern is the Medallion Wrap in Vogue Spring/Summer 2012 and the yarn is Patons Lace – Sequins in Ruby.
I have to admit I was very unsure about using this yarn with this pattern. However after my 1st test medallion was completed, I’m very happy with how this yarn looks in this pattern. This yarn is soft and comfortable against the skin, and it appears to have a nice drape in the knitted sample.
Tonight was a rare night to get to stitch on the couch. But I’m not sure I got much more knitting done. Our Lab, Hershey, was my constant knitting companion tonight. He is named Hershey because he just loves hugs and kisses. It’s hard to knit when these big brown eyes are begging for attention.
What’s in your project bag this week?
Happy Knitting friends and have wonderful Friday!
Aw! Hershey is so cute!
Yes he is and he knows it. 🙂
